Reclamite Maltene-Based Rejuvenator

FIRST STEP IN ASPHALT PAVEMENT PRESERVATION

For more than 50 years, Reclamite has been used by the country’s top civil engineers and public works managers to preserve asphalt pavement.

Spray so it penetrates the surface. Then a light sanding is applied to the surface.

As a top-of-the-curve product, it is sprayed on like-new road surfaces that are less than a year old to 6 years old.

  • Adds 5-7 years to the life of any asphalt surface for less than a dollar per square yard.

  • Prevents raveling and other signs of aging.

  • Delays the application of surface course seals like chip seals and microsurfacing.

  • Helps local government and public works departments manage costs and reduce the burden on taxpayers.

  • Improves driver safety by preventing potholes.

How does Reclamite work?

The high temperatures used during the manufacturer and installation of asphalt depletes the maltene factions that give the road surface its strength and durability. Reclamite, a petroleum maltene-based rejuvenation agent, replaces those factions and prevents premature aging.

When Reclamite is sprayed on the road, it penetrates deep into the surface to reinforce the binder that bonds the asphalt and aggregate together.

Applying Reclamite to a road improves the asphalt’s durability, flexibility and viscosity so it can withstand the ravages of the weather, the sun’s ultraviolet rays, freeze-thaw conditions and the weight of modern traffic.

Reclamite seals the surface “in-depth” and preserve the pavement’s surface for many years after application.

Under the right circumstances Reclamite can be sprayed over roads with a microsurface and/or chip seal layer. Reclamite will help slow the raveling and aggregate loss.

Reclamite can also be applied to new pavement in advance of mastic treatments or fog seals to provide a better surface for treatment adhesion.

Scientifically proven to work

Reclamite was developed in the 1950s, and its formulation has stood the test of time.

In rigorous scientific testing by independent laboratories, its ability to preserve pavement surfaces has been proven to:

  • Prevent raveling and stripping.

  • Reduce permeability.

  • Improve density and compaction issues.

  • Stop air and moisture intrusion.
